Defend/DŽfendre features artists from Nord-Pas de Calais and East Kent whose works respond to the Castle's history, architecture and location.  Defend/DŽfendre is a collaboration with Espace 36 in St Omer, Deal's twin town, and is the first visual arts project to result from this partnership.

New Kent Opera performs a very special 'Night at the Opera', including scenes from Mozart's ever-popular Marriage of Figaro and Cosi fan tutte, as well as some fabulous music drawn from great C20th operatic works such as Stravinsky's Rake's Progress, and Britten's Turn of the Screw. The New Kent Opera ensemble features four of the most talented young singers to appear on the operatic scene in Britain in recent years.

The Saddest Music in the World
